Train to Teach

Associated Merseyside Partnership SCITT

Lydiate Learning Trust has a large, very successful, accredited Teacher Training provider called Associated Merseyside Partnership SCITT.

AMP SCITT as it is commonly known is a partnership of primary and secondary schools across Liverpool, Sefton, Halton and the Wirral. Most recently we have developed a satellite centre in Manchester working with Ashton College.

AMP SCITT provides practical, hands-on teacher training delivered by experienced, practicing teachers based in our partnership schools.

Training as part of a SCITT ( School Centered Initial Teacher Training) gives trainees the opportunity to learn “on the job”. Our trainees benefit from working and learning very day in a school and getting an immediate insight into what teaching involved. This also means we get to see the highest quality trainees in action and inevitably many of them join our workforce.

Why get into teaching?

More of the best graduates and professionals are training to teach. That’s because there are more great reasons to pursue a career in teaching than ever before.

You can benefit from financial support during your training, and once you’ve qualified you can enjoy enviable job security and a generous pension.

Plus you get the chance to inspire young people and use your skills to give something back – making sure every pupil gets the same access to a quality education and the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
