LLT students celebrate post-16 results

Students and staff across Lydiate Learning Trust are celebrating the achievements of Year 13 students as they receive their results today.

At College@Deyes, students are celebrating a wide range of successes and securing exciting next steps, including university places, degree apprenticeships, employment and further study. The cohort achieved an average A-Level grade of B, while vocational students achieved an average grade of Merit+.

Outstanding individual achievements include Heidi Carlyle, who achieved A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Physics and will progress to the University of Cambridge to study Mechanical Engineering. George Rooney achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths and will study Medicine at Edge Hill University, while Luca Tanner achieved A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and A in Psychology and will study Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Liverpool.

Students also celebrated success across vocational pathways. Tim Harrison achieved Distinction* grades in BTEC IT and Business Studies alongside a Distinction in BTEC Computing and will progress to Liverpool Hope University.

Heidi said: “I’m absolutely made up to have secured my place at Christ’s College, University of Cambridge to study Engineering – it feels like all the hard work has paid off. The extra support sessions in maths and physics really helped me, alongside the work I put in at home.”

Other students highlighted the support they received throughout their studies. Lucas Leigh, who will study Game Development at Edge Hill University, said: “The teachers at College@Deyes were really supportive, providing past papers and always taking the time to help when I was struggling.”

At Childwall Sports & Science Academy, students completing BTEC qualifications are also celebrating their results and preparing for their next steps. The results reflect the hard work, determination and ambition shown by students throughout their post-16 studies.

Across the Trust, students have demonstrated the resilience, commitment and ambition needed to succeed, supported by dedicated staff, families and their wider school communities.
