At Childwall Sports and Science Academy, Culture Day was a vibrant celebration of the rich diversity that defines our school community. Organised by students and staff, the event brought the entire school together to honour heritage, identity and inclusion through food, fashion, music and storytelling.

Pupils proudly wore traditional dress, shared dishes from their family cultures, and performed poetry, dance and music from around the world. Classrooms discussed cultures through activities and discussions.

Culture Day was a powerful reminder of the strength found in our differences and the unity we build through understanding and respect. By giving students a platform to express who they are and learn about each other’s backgrounds, the day reflected the inclusive values that sit at the heart of both Childwall Sports and Science Academy and Lydiate Learning Trust.

One student reflected: “Sharing the story of my outfit made me feel proud — like I brought a piece of my family into school.” Another added: “I learned how to dance to African music and we created our own routine together — it was amazing!”
