Early Career Teacher CPDL
At Lydiate Learning Trust, we are committed to giving every Early Career Teacher (ECT) a flying start. Our two-year induction programme, delivered in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching, combines structured professional learning with personalised mentoring and assessment.
Each ECT is supported by a subject mentor, induction tutor, and the Trust’s ECT Manager, ensuring consistent guidance and feedback throughout the programme. The offer includes diagnostic reviews, elective self-studies, and seminars that develop subject expertise, strengthen pedagogy, and build confidence in evidence-informed practice.
In Year 2, the focus shifts towards challenge and refinement—deepening the use of research in the classroom, developing subject specificity, and embedding professional autonomy. Our goal is simple: to nurture reflective, skilled, and resilient teachers ready to deliver outstanding learning for every student.
