Train to Teach
Associated Merseyside Partnership SCITT
Lydiate Learning Trust is proud to lead the Associated Merseyside Partnership School Centred Initial Teacher Training (AMP SCITT) — a pioneering and highly successful accredited provider of teacher training.
AMP SCITT brings together a large and growing network of primary and secondary schools across the North West, with established hubs in Manchester (in partnership with Ashton Sixth Form College) and Cheshire (with North West Academies Trust).
Our programme offers practical, school-based training led by experienced, practising teachers. Trainees learn on the job, gaining immediate insight into the realities of teaching while developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in the classroom. Many go on to secure roles within Lydiate Learning Trust and across our wider partnership of schools.
AMP SCITT offers a range of Initial Teacher Training routes, including:
- Primary (3–7 and 5–11)
- Secondary
- SEND
- Apprenticeship
Trainees can achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option to study for a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), delivered in collaboration with our higher education partners. Each route provides a clear, supportive pathway into teaching, grounded in research and professional practice.
Why Choose a Career in Teaching?
